Seabee Day 2010

Questions & Answers

1. When is Seabee Day 2010?
May 8, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

2. Who can attend Seabee Day 2010? The base will be open to everyone. It’s a good idea to bring some form of photo identification.

3. How do I get there? From I-10 take Hwy 49 south to Pass Rd. Turn right on Pass Rd. and proceed to the Pass Rd. gate. From Hwy 90, take Hwy 49 north to Pass Rd. Turn left on Pass Rd. and proceed to the Pass Rd. gate.

4. What are the hours? The gates open at 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

5. What gates can the public enter? Pass Rd. only. Military ID card holders are encouraged to enter through the Broad Ave. gate.

6. Where do I park? You will be directed to the free parking areas.

7. How do I get from the parking lot to the event site? A shuttle bus will be provided.

8. How can I sign up to be a vendor? There will be application forms on the Seabee Day web site or call Holly Jo Walker at 228-871-3000 for information.

9. I sent in my vendor application but I haven’t heard back? Please call Holly Jo Walker at 228-871-3000. Packets will be mailed out a couple weeks prior to the event containing maps, parking passes and all the information you will need as a vendor.

10. How can I become a sponsor? Contact the MWR at 228-871-4042 or USO at 228-363-0664.

11. Will I be searched when entering the base? Please note that NCBC Gulfport has heightened security measures in place. All vehicles and personnel entering the base are subject to search. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: coolers, backpacks, skateboards, bicycles, glass containers, pets, alcohol and weapons.

12. Are pets permitted at Seabee Day 2010? No pets are permitted at Seabee Day 2010, due to the amount of people, the concern over injury to people and the animals, and the waste issues.

13. Is Seabee Day 2010 handicap accessible? Most areas of Seabee Day 2010 are handicap accessible. For parking, let the traffic officers know and they will direct you to handicap parking.

14. Will the clubs be open during Seabee Day 2010? The Grill located at the Bayou Pines Golf Course will be open for special open house Seebee Day 2010 specials. The rest of the clubs on base are only open to military associated patrons.

15. Will I be able to shop at the Navy Exchange and Commissary? Only those persons with a valid military ID card, dependant or retiree ID card will be permitted to shop at the Navy Exchange and Commissary facilities. However, Subway and McDonald are open to non-military personnel.

16 How do I get from the parking area to the event? If parking on the grinder via Shuttle or by walking. Public parking is very close to the event.

17. Where can I buy Seabee memorabilia? Several booths at Seabee Day 2010 will be selling items such as t-shirts, hats, pins, and coffee cups.

18. Will the golf course be open during Seabee Day 2010? Yes, the golf course will have regular hours and tee times during Seabee Day 2010 after the conclusion of the Golf Tournament. The course is open to the public daily.

19. Where is lost and found? Lost and found is located at the Public Safety booth near the stage.
